About CNC Turning
When engineers want to know if a specific part of a design is going to work, they look to CNC Turning. The finished article is used to create pieces of machinery that are often highly-complex. A typical car has around 10,000 parts alone.
A trained operator will be familiar with many types of materials, ensuring the dimensions of the finished piece exactly match the design specifications
The Challenge
Competitors are required to:
CNC turning and milling – what’s the difference?
the answer, others may find this a useful insight into what goes on behind the scenes in the world of metal fabrication!
CNC machining
Turning
Items processed by a lathe will be cylindrical and must be on-centre. Turned parts can range from simple rings to complex curved components. CNC turning is the most efficient way to mass-produce these kinds of parts.
Various cutting tools can be installed within the lathe tooling head (pictured below) to perform different cutting operations sequentially, to produce parts in a one-pass process. Straight cuts, tapers and contours can all be created by varying the angle and depth of the cut.
awing carefully, don’t accept the order if we can’t meet the print requirement, we don’t ship out the parts if the parts failed to meet the customer’s requirements.

FAQ
Why Choose Xinbo for CNC Machining?
Iterate part designs quickly and accelerate product development with quick-turn parts. Our experienced engineering team will help spot any difficult to machine features before your design is sent to the manufacturing floor and save you from costly reworks further down the product development cycle.
Why some of the parts have to be made by CNC machining instead of injection molding?
There are three main reasons, the first one is: some of the melt plastic has a very high viscosity(too thick) for the material flow to fill in the mold, for example PTFE.
The second reason is, some of the parts has to be have uneven wall thickness, that means it will have quality issue(for example sink mark, deformation or shot shot) if it is made by injection process. For CNC parts it don’t have the wall thickness limitation.
The third reason is: the quantity is small, it’s not worth to make a injection mould, the cost of the injection tooling at least thousands of USD, if the cost separated to couple of parts, the unit price will be very high.
